Project 03: Post-production
Instructions
Based on our Project 02: Production, we need to finalise all production outcome and compile them.
AR progress
When Mr.Fauzi first told us to do AR, he sent a link for an AR website "8thwall.com". I tried using this website to produce a workable AR but everything that i tried importing into the scene just wouldn't show up no matter what format I used. Then, I found out the website is actually scheduled to close down by 2026 so I had to search for a different website to do my AR.
A classmate suggested I try the website "Kivicube.com". It's also a free website that allows users to create different ARs like face tracking, world tracking, picture target, etc. I did a small testing to see if AR image tracking would work on my sculpture due to its amount of details and textures and thankfully it did work.
So, because my sculpture is in partial 3D, I felt I had to use some 3D assets. I searched and imported a 3D origami model from Sketchfab.com. Then put it into Meshy.ai to add texture. I also used that same website to generate a 3D model of my sculpture.
Additional assets were taken from Kivicube's presets under their GIF and Video Asset sections.
The idea was to start the AR with a 3D model of my heart sculpture and animate it to pump so that it simulates a heart. When you press the heart, it displays falling stars, which I think represents our inner child. Then, when you tap on the heart again, two origami 3D models will appear and float around a little. This symbolises growth as we grow up into adults. Lastly, if you click on each origami, they will disappear and turn into 1 single "realistic" star.
This was all doable by adjusted the visibility and animation enter and exist transitions. This would connect the assets to one another and react according to our touch/tapping on the screen.
Finalised AR
Once I finalised the AR, I made an A5 card for the QR and instructions on how to access the AR on Canva.com. I also made sure to include a photo of the sculpture for image tracking, just in case the AR doesn't work on the sculpture due to lighting or shadow issues.
Finalising Visual and Audio
As mentioned by Mr. Fauzi during feedback session, he told me to refine the visuals by adding more additional content as well as to change the audio entirely to something softer and more nostalgic.
Due to a limitation in time, I searched up videos and gifs on Pinterest.com to use them as additional visuals. One video is of a child running in an almost dreamlike state. I really liked this one because it represents what I'm trying to show with my work.
The other additional visual is just an animation of pouring rain which provides another layer of nostalgia on top of the existing graphics as well as the child running.

Once I finalised the visuals, I assembled them in Premier Pro and started searching for a background music on Youtube. Since I already had the rain ambient and child laughing/running SFX, I just reused them.
The background music link: nostalgic playlist for daydreaming
When I finished the visuals and did the projection, which can be seen in Project 02: Production. Mr. Fauzi told me to do a short compilation of my work, the visual projection, AR, and explanation of my work along with descriptions and captions. So I compiled some of my videos together in Adobe Premier Pro and edited a short 3 minute video that shows my final outcome.

Feedback
Week 10 (Start AR):
- Try to make your AR interactive.
- You can just make it a scan for visual but would advise to make it interactive for immersion.
Week 11 (AR progress):
- Don't use pink butterfly for your AR, it doesn't really match the sculpture's aesthetic.
Week 12 :
- Everything looks okay.
Week 13 (1st showcase):
- It's good but the visual graphics shouldn't loop 3 times without any additional visuals.
- The audio feels too heavy, try to go for something more soft.
- Add more visuals when you loop, that's when you introduce sound effects and ambient sound to the background music.
Week 14:
- Compile your outcome into a short video and add captions/descriptions.
- Create slides for Project 02 and Project 03 to show your progress and what you have done.
- Complete your blog in detail for marking.
