Immersive Visual Effects | Bachelor of Design in Creative Media
MIB
Students will be exposed to the history of visual effects techniques and
master the concepts, processes, and tools to build a strong understanding of
the building blocks of visual effects production as it applies to 360-degree
or volumetric videos and Augmented Reality.
Instructions
Students have to propose a series of ideas and brainstorming
into a slide presentation.
To use information for the idea execution:
- Create mood-board that reflects their concept/idea
- Storyboard
- Floor plan
Students are to start with thumbnail sketches and test a wide
range of conceptual ideas through digitisation using
appropriate software. Students are to conclude by selecting
and presenting their proposed channel bumper interpretation in
the instructed format/s.
Ideation/Brainstorming
Mr.Fauzi instructed us to generate a few ideas, at least 2,
so we would have a backup plan.
1. My first idea was to do static projection mapping on
water. It would be more of an abstract idea.
2. My second idea was to do something related to grief by
doing projection mapping/AR on a wooden box.
However, after some feedback session, I settled on Idea
#3:
- Healing our inner child. This idea was better catered for a large audience and can be related by the general public.

Feedback
- Try to think of an idea that is more interactive.
- Come up with an art piece that can be "sold".
- Go for ideas that can be understood by the general public.
- Find significance in your sculpture, create something that
reflects healing.
- Try not to lean towards dark abstract art, go for something that
is more "joyful".
