Project 02: Production Shoot
Task
Our class was split into 3 groups to make up separate production
crews. We were then required to distribute the roles and
responsibilities amongst ourselves, to carry out a production shoot. A
storyboard of a few scenes from "Everything, Everywhere, All At Once"
was provided for us to follow. Once the shoot is complete, the clips
(and audio) filmed need to be made into a short trailer to showcase
our understanding of video editing. The trailer can be of any
sequence, style and does not need to follow the initial storyboard we
used for shooting.

Clips and Audios:
We uploaded the shots and audios into a google drive and sorted them
into failed shots and final takes.
Editing Process:
Before I began editing the clips into sequence, I synced the audio
clips with our final shots.
Then, I browsed through Youtube to select a copyright-free audio to
set the tone for my trailer. I wanted to go for a thriller theme, so
the music that i chose is somewhat a horror/suspense sound
track.

Once the music is imported, I started editing the clips into my desired
sequence and style. I trimmed the clips into different shots and let some
space between different scenes to allow text. When I was satisfied with a
draft of the overall composition, I searched for some sound effects to
amplify the dramaticism of the trailer. This was also paired with
graphics/texts and synced with video transitions.

When I was satisfied with the overall composition, I moved onto adjust
the audio using the "Audio" workspace. This didn't take too long as we
already had previous experience doing the audio dubbing exercise. However,
this time i didn't use the track mixer to adjust volume as I wanted
gradual audio dynamics. I did this in the "effects control" panel by
adding keyframes that adjust to different values of volume level. The
softest input value was -18.0db and the loudest was around -8.0db for
background music. Whereas, SFX was around -12db, -8db to 0.0db, depending
on the volume of the original audio, dialogues were mostly at -8db. Audio
transitions were also added where necessary.

Project 02: Tiktok/Insta Video
Task
We need to create a short tiktok/Insta video by filming our shots with
phones and editing with capcut. The idea should be trendy and short, with
the tiktok/insta transitions.

I filmed all the clips in my room with a tripod, then selected the clips i
wanted to use and imported it into Capcut. Before editing the video, I
imported the music first to determine the rhythm and timing of each shot. Once
I was done with the overall sequence, I added adjustment layers to the clips
to correct the colours, then another additional layer was added for colour
grading the video into my desired vibe.
